Job Summary

Selby Jennings is seeking a Reinsurance Senior Accountant I in Clive, Polk County, US. This role supports a growing reinsurance function by managing accounting activities, preparing financial reports, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Compile, analyze, and present financial information to senior leadership, management committees, and regulatory bodies.
• Own end‑to‑end accounting for new and existing reinsurance arrangements, ensuring accurate recording of complex transactions.
• Prepare, review, and maintain financial records for complex general ledger accounts, including the development of automated or system‑based journal entries.
• Partner with internal teams to streamline reinsurance processes and improve data integrity.
• Assist with regulatory reporting, audits, and compliance checks related to reinsurance activities.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close processes, providing detailed variance analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or similar certification preferred.
• 3‑5 years of experience in accounting, preferably with reinsurance, insurance, or financial services.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, and reinsurance accounting principles.
• Proficiency with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills; experience with automation tools is a plus.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and presentation skills.

Compensation

Salary range: $85,000 – $90,000 per year.
