Job Summary
Join Yale New Haven Health as a Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Float Pool, based in Manhattan, New York. This full‑time role offers an annual salary of $68,010.58 and provides the opportunity to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care across multiple critical care units.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and document individual patient care in accordance with nursing standards and YNHHS policies.
- Provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in ICU, CCU, ED and step‑down units, adapting quickly to varying unit needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, respiratory therapists and pharmacists, to develop and execute comprehensive care plans.
- Supervise and mentor junior nursing staff and healthcare assistants, promoting a culture of learning and safety.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, safety huddles and unit‑specific training programmes.
- Respond promptly to emergent situations, performing advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) and other critical interventions.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted New York State RN registration.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an acute or critical care setting.
- Certification in BLS and ACLS (or eligibility to obtain within 90 days).
- Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to prioritise care in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent communication, teamwork and problem‑solving abilities.

Desirable Attributes
- Experience working in a float pool or multi‑unit environment.
- Additional certifications such as CCRN, CEN, or specialty training.
