About This Position
Job Summary
Broad River Rehabilitation is seeking a Regional MDS Nurse/RN to oversee Minimum Data Set (MDS) and clinical reimbursement activities across multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities in Western North Carolina, based in Grace Sta, Buncombe County.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and audit MDS 3.0 assessments for accuracy and timeliness across all assigned facilities.
- Implement and monitor PDPM (Patient-Driven Payment Model) strategies to maximize reimbursement.
- Ensure compliance with CMS regulations, state licensing requirements, and internal policies.
- Provide education and ongoing training to nursing staff and interdisciplinary teams on MDS documentation, coding, and reimbursement best practices.
- Analyze clinical and financial data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for quality improvement.
- Collaborate with facility leadership to develop action plans that improve resident outcomes and financial performance.
- Prepare and submit required reports to state and federal agencies.
- Serve as a liaison between the organization and external auditors or consultants.
Qualifications
- Current RN license in North Carolina.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in skilled nursing or long‑term care, with direct involvement in MDS and reimbursement processes.
- Strong knowledge of MDS 3.0, PDPM, and Medicare/Medicaid billing guidelines.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and MDS software.
- Ability to travel between facilities within the regional territory.
Compensation & Benefits
