About This Position
Merck is seeking a Rare Disease Account Specialist to join its sales team in Talcott Village, Hartford County, NY. This role provides clinical and educational support to healthcare providers, helping them deliver optimal care for patients with rare diseases.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver accurate product and clinical information to physicians, pharmacists, and healthcare teams.
- Conduct educational sessions, product trainings, and disease‑state presentations.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare institutions.
- Identify and address unmet needs in the rare disease market, supporting Merck’s growth strategy.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including medical affairs, market access, and compliance.
- Track and report on territory performance, market trends, and competitor activity.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, nursing, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 2‑3 years of experience in pharmaceutical sales, medical affairs, or rare disease specialty.
- Strong understanding of rare disease therapeutic areas and regulatory guidelines.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship‑building skills.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within the assigned territory.
Compensation
Base salary: $180,087.17 annually.
