Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review and manage tender and contract documents for rail and civil projects.
- Develop accurate cost estimates, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts.
- Monitor project expenditures, variations and change orders, ensuring compliance with client and statutory requirements.
- Provide commercial advice to project managers and senior leadership, highlighting risk and mitigation strategies.
- Lead negotiations with subcontractors, suppliers and clients to secure favorable terms.
- Maintain and update the company’s commercial framework, supported by an experienced Commercial Manager.
- Produce regular cost reports, forecasts and performance metrics for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the procurement team in sourcing high‑value contracts and managing supplier relationships.
What We’re Looking For
- Qualified Quantity Surveyor (RICS accredited preferred) with 3+ years of experience in rail or civil engineering projects.
- Strong understanding of NEC and JCT contracts, as well as industry best practices.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., CostX, WinQS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Commitment to health & safety and a proactive approach to risk management.
