About This Position
Fawkes & Reece London are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their regional contracting team in Ocean Village, Southampton. The role will manage two live South Coast projects valued at £4.5m and £2.5m, with a hybrid office/WFH arrangement.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts for the Lancing (£4.5m) and Worthing (£2.5m) projects.
- Conduct tender analysis, subcontractor negotiations and value‑engineering exercises.
- Monitor variations, change orders and final accounts, ensuring accurate documentation and timely invoicing.
- Collaborate with project managers, site engineers and clients to resolve cost‑related issues.
- Provide regular cost reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Maintain compliance with health & safety and contractual standards.
Requirements
- Qualified Quantity Surveyor (RICS accredited or equivalent).
- Minimum 2‑4 years’ experience on commercial or residential construction projects.
- Proficiency in cost‑control software (e.g., CostX, Sage, or similar).
- Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of a small project portfolio.
- Flexibility to attend the Southampton office one day per week and work from home one day per week.
