About This Position
Job Summary
Join Becton Dickinson & Company as a Quality Technician – Scrap Management (2nd Shift) in El Paso, El Paso County, TX. This full‑time role ensures compliance and efficiency of scrap handling processes while supporting BD’s mission to advance the world of health.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect, classify, and document all scrap materials generated on the 2nd shift according to company SOPs and regulatory standards.
- Coordinate with production, engineering, and supply‑chain teams to verify root‑cause analyses and corrective actions for scrap issues.
- Maintain accurate records in the quality management system (QMS) and generate daily/weekly scrap reports.
- Perform trend analysis on scrap data to identify opportunities for waste reduction and cost savings.
- Conduct internal audits of scrap handling areas and ensure proper segregation, labeling, and disposition.
- Support investigations for non‑conformances, CAPA implementation, and regulatory inspections.
- Train 2nd‑shift personnel on scrap handling procedures, safety protocols, and documentation requirements.
- Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and other applicable medical‑device regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device or biotech.
- Strong knowledge of scrap management, GMP, and ISO 13485 standards.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and QMS software; experience with SAP or similar ERP a plus.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on the 2nd shift (typically 3 PM–11 PM) and collaborate across functions.
Compensation & Benefits
