Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, classify, and document all scrap materials generated on the 2nd shift according to company SOPs and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate with production, engineering, and supply‑chain teams to verify root‑cause analyses and corrective actions for scrap issues.
• Maintain accurate records in the quality management system (QMS) and generate daily/weekly scrap reports.
• Perform trend analysis on scrap data to identify opportunities for waste reduction and cost savings.
• Conduct internal audits of scrap handling areas and ensure proper segregation, labeling, and disposition.
• Support investigations for non‑conformances, CAPA implementation, and regulatory inspections.
• Train 2nd‑shift personnel on scrap handling procedures, safety protocols, and documentation requirements.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, ISO 13485, and other applicable medical‑device regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Quality Assurance, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably medical device or biotech.
• Strong knowledge of scrap management, GMP, and ISO 13485 standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and QMS software; experience with SAP or similar ERP a plus.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently on the 2nd shift (typically 3 PM–11 PM) and collaborate across functions.
