About This Position
Job Summary
Innophos is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist – Food Safety to join its manufacturing team in North Salt Lake, Davis County, UT. This role ensures the safety and quality of food ingredients through regulatory compliance, system maintenance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor food safety programs in accordance with FDA, FSMA, and other applicable regulations.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments of raw materials, processes, and finished products.
- Perform defect analysis, root‑cause investigations, and corrective‑action planning to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including SOPs, batch records, and compliance reports.
- Collaborate with Production, R&D, Supply Chain, and Engineering teams to resolve quality issues and drive process improvements.
- Support internal and external audits, preparing evidence and responding to findings.
- Analyze quality data, generate trends, and present findings to management.
- Train staff on food safety best practices and quality standards.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or related field.
- 2+ years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, or a regulated manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of FDA, USDA, FSMA, GFSI, and HACCP principles.
- Proficiency with document control systems and statistical analysis tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work cross‑functionally and influence stakeholders.
Compensation
Salary: $77,270.52 annually
