QA Automation Engineer

Job Summary

Join Miller Cooper in Chicago, Cook County as a QA Automation Engineer specializing in Playwright. You will design, develop, and maintain automated regression and acceptance test suites for a leading healthcare SaaS platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement and execute automated test scripts using Playwright and JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Collaborate with product owners, developers and DevOps to define test requirements and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain and expand the regression test suite to ensure continuous coverage across new releases.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps).
• Analyze test results, report defects, and track them through resolution.
• Mentor junior QA team members on automation best practices and code reviews.
• Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming and agile ceremonies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience in test automation, preferably with Playwright.
• Strong programming skills in JavaScript/TypeScript and familiarity with Node.js.
• Experience with version control (Git) and CI/CD tools.
• Understanding of RESTful APIs and ability to write API tests.
• Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

• Knowledge of healthcare regulations (HIPAA, HITECH) and clinical data standards.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud testing environments.
• Familiarity with performance testing tools (e.g., k6, Gatling).
