Property Accountant

Robert Half is seeking a Property Accountant to support the financial operations of a commercial real‑estate portfolio in Rye, Westchester County, NY. This full‑time role offers hands‑on experience with day‑to‑day accounting, period‑end reporting, and portfolio‑level financial analysis.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain general ledger entries for multiple property and investment structures.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year‑end financial statements and variance analyses.
• Reconcile bank accounts, cash flow statements, and intercompany balances.
• Assist with rent roll, CAM reconciliations, and lease accounting.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in real‑estate or property accounting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP, lease accounting, and commercial real‑estate reporting.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Yardi, MRI) and advanced Excel skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, analytical mindset, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
