Join Spear & Associates, Inc., a respected civil engineering and land surveying firm in North San Diego County, as a Professional Land Surveyor (PLS). This full‑time role supports diverse surveying projects across Southern California.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct boundary surveys, calculate and resolve boundary discrepancies, and prepare precise legal descriptions.
• Produce mapping deliverables including parcel maps, subdivision plans, records of survey, corner records, and ALTA/NSPS surveys.
• Perform construction staking, topographic surveys, and as‑built documentation for infrastructure projects.
• Utilize industry‑standard software (AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS, Trimble, Leica) to create accurate survey drawings and data sets.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, clients, and local government agencies to ensure compliance with regulations and project specifications.
• Maintain field equipment, calibrate instruments, and ensure data integrity throughout the survey lifecycle.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Valid Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license in California.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in boundary, topographic, and construction staking surveys.
• Proficiency in legal description writing, ALTA/NSPS standards, and parcel mapping.
• Strong knowledge of surveying equipment (total stations, GPS, drones) and data processing software.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to travel throughout Southern California and work flexible field hours.

Compensation & Benefits
