Principal Technical Accountant

Job Summary

Oracle is hiring a Principal Technical Accountant for its South Boston, Suffolk County, US office. This senior role leads complex accounting analysis, collaborates with global finance teams, and ensures accurate financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and interpret contracts, agreements, and transaction details to determine appropriate accounting treatment.
• Research and apply US GAAP, IFRS, and other relevant accounting standards to new and existing business arrangements.
• Partner with US and International Accounting, Tax, Legal, and Business Operations teams to resolve technical accounting issues.
• Prepare and review technical accounting documentation, including memos, policy updates, and audit workpapers.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and external auditors.
• Mentor junior accountants and contribute to the development of best‑practice accounting frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive experience in technical accounting, preferably within a large technology or enterprise software company.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS, and experience with complex revenue recognition, lease accounting, and SaaS contracts.
• Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle ERP Cloud) and advanced Excel/SQL abilities.

Compensation

Base salary: $188,325.56 per year.
