About This Position
Oracle is hiring a Principal Software Developer specialized in C/C++, Java, and distributed systems to work on the Exadata team at State House, Lancaster County, US.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize core components of the Exadata Storage Server and Database Machine.
- Lead architecture discussions for high‑performance, scalable distributed systems.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, firmware teams, and product managers to deliver end‑to‑end solutions.
- Mentor senior engineers, enforce best coding practices, and conduct code reviews.
- Drive performance testing, debugging, and root‑cause analysis for production issues.
Required Qualifications
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field.
- 10+ years of professional software development experience in C/C++ and Java.
- Deep understanding of distributed system concepts, networking, and storage architectures.
- Proven experience with high‑throughput, low‑latency code and performance tuning.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Experience
- Previous work on database or storage appliances.
- Familiarity with Linux kernel development and device drivers.
- Experience with cloud platforms and virtualization technologies.
Compensation
Salary: $162,285.64 per year (fixed).
