Principal Engineer

Petvisor is seeking a Principal Engineer to join its R&D team in the United States. This senior individual contributor role reports to the VP of Engineering and provides top‑level technical leadership across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead system architecture design, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with product strategy.
• Define and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and coding guidelines.
• Mentor senior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence.
• Collaborate with product, design, and data teams to translate business goals into robust technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior technical leadership role.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, cloud architecture (AWS, GCP, or Azure), and modern programming languages (e.g., Java, Go, Python, C++).
• Proven track record of designing and delivering large‑scale, high‑availability products.
• Strong communication skills and ability to influence cross‑functional teams.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Preferred Experience

• Experience building AI/ML platforms or data‑intensive services.
• Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).

Compensation

Salary range: $190,000 – $230,000 per year.
