About This Position
Join First Technical Recruitment as a Power System Studies Engineer on a 6‑12 month contract in Fetcham, Leatherhead, Surrey. Work 4 days onsite and 1 day remotely, supporting on‑shore energy and infrastructure projects for a leading client.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed power system studies including load flow, short‑circuit, stability and harmonic analysis.
- Develop and review technical specifications for captive power generation and grid interconnection.
- Support design and engineering of on‑shore projects for complex energy, infrastructure and government programmes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with national grid codes and client standards.
- Prepare clear reports, presentations and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Provide on‑site assistance during commissioning and testing phases.
Requirements & Skills
- Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in power system modelling and analysis (e.g., PSS®E, DigSILENT, PowerFactory).
- Knowledge of captive power generation, renewable integration and grid compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Contract Details
Salary: £114,400 – £135,200 per annum (outside IR35).
Location: Fetcham, Leatherhead, Surrey (4 days office, 1 day remote).
Start date: ASAP.
