About This Position
Actalent is seeking a Plant Engineer to lead equipment implementation and process optimization across multiple manufacturing facilities in Wellston, Saint Louis County, US. This hands‑on engineering role blends project management with continuous‑improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, install, commission, and fine‑tune production equipment and automation systems.
- Lead capital‑project delivery from concept, budgeting, and scheduling through startup and hand‑over.
- Provide day‑to‑day technical support to production lines, troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and control issues.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, work instructions, and maintenance strategies.
- Drive continuous‑improvement programs using Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM methodologies to increase OEE and reduce waste.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including operations, quality, safety, and supply chain—to ensure alignment on project goals.
- Prepare technical documentation, cost‑benefit analyses, and progress reports for senior management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related field).
- 3+ years of experience in a plant or industrial engineering role, preferably in heavy‑industrial manufacturing.
- Proficiency with CAD/solid‑modeling tools, PLC programming, and industrial control systems.
- Strong project‑management skills; experience managing multi‑million‑dollar capital projects.
- Knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, and TPM principles; Green Belt certification is a plus.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.
