About This Position
Physicist – Remote Contract (Based in Toronto, Ontario)
Mercur is seeking PhD‑level physicists with expertise in advanced quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, and classical mechanics to support leading AI research labs. This remote contract role offers flexible engagement of 4–6 tasks per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high‑quality data sets and analytical models for cutting‑edge AI projects.
- Design and execute simulations involving quantum systems, electromagnetic fields, and complex mechanical processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams of researchers, engineers, and data scientists to integrate physical insights into AI algorithms.
- Document methodologies, results, and best practices in clear technical reports.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members as needed.
Required Qualifications
- PhD in Physics or a closely related field.
- Deep knowledge of quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, and classical mechanics.
