Key Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Operate advanced ophthalmic equipment such as OCT, fundus cameras, and visual field analyzers.
- Assist physicians with diagnostic testing, laser treatments, and minor surgical procedures.
- Document patient histories, test results, and treatment plans in the electronic medical record.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment and adhere to infection‑control protocols.
- Provide patient education on pre‑ and post‑procedure care and answer routine questions.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) or Medical Assistant certification preferred.
- Minimum 1‑2 years experience in an ophthalmology or optometry setting.
- Proficiency with ophthalmic imaging devices and electronic health record systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
- Current BLS/CPR certification.
