About This Position
The Operational Technology Security Engineer role at Eliassen Group is a permanent, remote‑first position supporting a government client. You will protect industrial control systems and OT environments while based in Bismarck, Burleigh County, US, with a salary of $90,870.05.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain cybersecurity controls for operational technology (OT) and industrial control systems (ICS) in accordance with DoD, NIST, and industry best practices.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing on OT networks and devices.
- Develop and enforce security policies, standards, and hardening guides specific to OT environments.
- Monitor security events, analyze incidents, and lead rapid response actions for OT‑related threats.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and IT teams to integrate security solutions without impacting production uptime.
- Provide technical guidance and training to stakeholders on OT security awareness and best practices.
- Maintain documentation, reporting, and compliance evidence for audits and regulatory reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3+ years of hands‑on experience securing OT/ICS environments, preferably in government or critical infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, DIACAP), NIST SP 800‑82, IEC 62443, and related standards.
- Proficiency with OT security tools such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, data diodes, and secure remote access solutions.
- Experience with network segmentation, secure protocol implementation, and device hardening for PLCs, SCADA, DCS, and RTU systems.
- Relevant certifications (CISSP, GICSP, GICSP‑OT, CEH, or similar) are a plus.
