About This Position
Job Summary
Join Eliassen Group as an Operational Technology Security Engineer working remotely from Wyoming, Kent County, US. You will protect critical industrial and OT systems for a government client by designing, implementing and monitoring security controls aligned with DoD and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and deploy security architectures for operational technology (OT) environments, including SCADA, PLCs and IoT devices.
- Implement and maintain defense‑in‑depth controls such as network segmentation, firewalls, intrusion detection, and secure remote access.
- Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing on OT assets.
- Develop and enforce security policies, procedures and hardening guides that meet DoD STIGs and NIST 800‑53 requirements.
- Monitor security events using SIEM/OT‑specific tools, investigate incidents, and coordinate response actions.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations and IT teams to integrate security into system design and lifecycle.
- Provide technical guidance and training to stakeholders on OT security best practices.
- Document architecture diagrams, configuration baselines, and compliance evidence for audits.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience securing industrial control systems or OT environments.
- Deep knowledge of DoD security standards (STIGs, RMF) and IEC 62443, NIST frameworks.
- Proficiency with firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, zero‑trust networking, and OT‑specific monitoring tools.
- Experience performing vulnerability assessments, pen‑testing, and incident response in OT settings.
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, GICSP‑OT, or CEH are strongly preferred.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and documentation skills.
