Operational Technology Security Engineer

Job Summary

The Operational Technology Security Engineer role at Eliassen Group is a permanent, remote position supporting government clients. Based in Urbanización El Vedado, San Juan, the engineer will protect industrial and OT environments using DoD and industry‑standard controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain security architectures for operational technology (OT) systems.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and threat modeling for industrial control environments.
• Develop and enforce security policies aligned with DoD, NIST, IEC 62443, and other relevant standards.
• Monitor OT networks using SIEM, IDS/IPS, and anomaly‑detection tools; respond to incidents in real time.
• Collaborate with engineering, IT, and program managers to integrate security controls into system life‑cycle processes.
• Provide technical guidance and training to cross‑functional teams on OT security best practices.
• Document security designs, test results, and compliance evidence for audits and reporting.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 3+ years of hands‑on experience securing industrial control systems, SCADA, PLCs, or similar OT environments.
• Strong knowledge of DoD RMF, NIST SP 800‑53, IEC 62443, and related security frameworks.
• Proficiency with OT‑specific security tools (e.g., firewalls, network segmentation, threat detection platforms).
• Experience with vulnerability management, penetration testing, and incident response in OT settings.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, GICSP, CEH, or ISA/IEC 62443 are preferred.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and documentation skills.

Compensation & Benefits
