ASEC is seeking an experienced Network Administrator to support the U.S. Navy’s NAVAIR Simulators at Sea (S@S) program in Lexington Park, St. Mary’s County, MD. This full‑time, on‑site role offers a salary range of $125,000 – $155,000 and requires an active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain LAN/WAN, VPN, and wireless networks supporting NAVAIR’s cutting‑edge flight simulators.
• Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement security patches in a DoD environment.
• Collaborate with system engineers, software developers, and Navy personnel to ensure seamless integration of simulation hardware and training applications.
• Document network architecture, standard operating procedures, and incident reports in compliance with DoD security policies.
• Perform regular vulnerability assessments and risk analyses; enforce security controls to protect classified information.
• Provide Level 2/3 support for network‑related incidents, including escalation to senior engineers when needed.
• Assist in the planning and execution of network upgrades, migrations, and capacity expansions for future carrier‑based training systems.

Required Qualifications

• Active Secret security clearance (must be able to obtain Top Secret).
• 5+ years of experience in enterprise network administration, preferably in a defense or government contracting setting.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent routing and switching platforms.
• Hands‑on experience with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
• Proficiency in TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN technologies, and network segmentation.
• Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, NIST 800‑53) and ITAR/CTI compliance.
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

Preferred Skills

• Experience supporting high‑availability training or simulation environments.
• Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure) and hybrid network architectures.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance within 12 months.

Work Environment

This position is 100% on‑site at ASEC’s Lexington Park facility. Candidates must be able to work in a secure environment with restricted access areas.
