Job Summary
Dermatology Associates in Tinley Park, Cook County is seeking a Part‑Time Mohs Technician. This role supports Mohs surgeons in a high‑volume dermatology practice, providing precise specimen processing and patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and label tissue specimens for Mohs micrographic surgery.
- Operate cryostats, embed tissue, and cut sections according to protocol.
- Stain slides, document margin status, and maintain accurate surgical logs.
- Assist the Mohs surgeon during intra‑operative mapping and reconstruction planning.
- Ensure sterility of instruments and maintain a clean, organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with patients, answering questions about the procedure and post‑operative care.
- Comply with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinic safety standards.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED; certification as a Mohs Technician or equivalent training preferred.
- Previous experience in a dermatology or surgical pathology setting.
- Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with surgeons, nurses, and administrative staff.
- Flexibility to work part‑time hours, including occasional evenings.
