About This Position
Foothills Billing Solutions LLC is hiring a Medical Claims Specialist to work on‑site in Lincolnton, Lincoln County, US. This role focuses on processing, following up, and resolving insurance claims for mental health providers nationwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Enter and verify patient and claim data in the billing system with a high degree of accuracy.
- Communicate professionally with insurance companies, providers, and patients via phone and written correspondence to resolve claim issues.
- Track claim status, perform timely follow‑ups, and ensure reimbursement aligns with contractual agreements.
- Identify and correct claim rejections, denials, and underpayments, escalating complex cases when necessary.
- Maintain detailed logs of all interactions and updates in compliance with HIPAA and company policies.
- Collaborate with the billing team to improve workflows and reduce claim turnaround time.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in health administration, business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years experience in medical billing or claims processing, preferably with mental health providers.
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD‑10, and insurance payer guidelines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to handle difficult conversations professionally.
- Proficiency with billing software (e.g., AdvancedMD, Kareo) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to meet strict deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Compensation
Annual salary: $61,650.34
