Job Summary

Inova Health System is seeking a full‑time Medical Assistant 2 for its Urogynecology and Minimally Invasive Gynecology Surgery (MIGS) department in Fairfax, Fairfax County, US. This day‑shift role (Monday‑Friday) offers a salary of $24,915.23 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and ensure all equipment is sterilized and ready for urogynecologic procedures.
• Assist physicians during minimally invasive surgeries, including laparoscopic and robotic cases.
• Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, and pre‑operative assessments.
• Manage patient flow, schedule appointments, and coordinate follow‑up care.
• Perform basic laboratory tests, EKGs, and specimen collection as directed.
• Educate patients on pre‑ and post‑procedure instructions, medication usage, and wound care.
• Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR) in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Support quality and safety initiatives, participating in continuous improvement projects.

Required Qualifications

• Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) and at least 1‑2 years of clinical experience.
• Experience in a surgical or specialty outpatient setting preferred, especially urogynecology or MIGS.
• Proficient with EMR systems and basic computer skills.
