Job Summary
The Manager Network Planning role at Lumen is based at the New York State Campus in Albany County, US. You will lead the design and optimization of Lumen’s AI‑driven network infrastructure, ensuring reliable, secure, and high‑performance connectivity for enterprise customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute strategic network planning initiatives aligned with Lumen’s AI and digital transformation goals.
- Lead cross‑functional teams to design, model, and forecast capacity, performance, and scalability of core and edge network assets.
- Collaborate with engineering, security, and product teams to integrate emerging technologies and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Analyze traffic patterns, market trends, and customer requirements to drive network optimization and cost‑efficiency.
- Present roadmaps, risk assessments, and investment recommendations to senior leadership.
- Mentor junior planners and foster a culture of continuous improvement and data‑driven decision making.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
- 10+ years of experience in network planning, architecture, or operations within large‑scale carrier or cloud environments.
- Proven expertise in capacity planning, traffic engineering, and network modeling tools (e.g., NetSim, GNS3, or custom AI‑based platforms).
- Strong understanding of AI/ML workloads, security protocols, and regulatory compliance (e.g., FCC, GDPR).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and leadership abilities.
Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $139,985.31 annually (fixed). Lumen offers a competitive benefits package including health, dental, vision, 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, and flexible work arrangements.
