Logistics and Operations Planner (FMCG)

The Logistics and Operations Planner (FMCG) role at RecruitAbility Ltd is a 6‑month fixed‑term position based near Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, offering a hybrid work model (one day remote). You will bring structure and control to a busy operational delivery schedule within a fast‑growing workplace design and installation business.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and optimise weekly and monthly operational plans for FMCG logistics, ensuring on‑time delivery and cost efficiency.
• Coordinate with transport, fleet, and supply‑chain teams to align resources, routes and inventory levels.
• Monitor performance metrics, identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare accurate forecasts, reports and dashboards for senior management.
• Manage relationships with external carriers and suppliers, negotiating service levels and rates.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives, driving process standardisation and automation where possible.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience (3+ years) in logistics, transport planning, fleet management or supply‑chain coordination, preferably within the FMCG sector.
• Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in Excel, PowerBI or similar reporting tools.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Experience with ERP or planning software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDA) is advantageous.
