Lead Project Manager – Substation Transmission at Sargent & Lundy in Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, US. This hybrid role combines remote work with on‑site coordination to drive multiple transmission, substation, and distribution projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end‑to‑end execution of capital projects, ensuring schedule, budget, and quality targets are met.
- Coordinate with internal engineering, procurement, construction, and stakeholder teams as well as external utilities, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, risk registers, and resource allocation matrices.
- Oversee contract administration, change orders, and subcontractor performance.
- Monitor project financials, prepare cost forecasts, and ensure compliance with company policies.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, status reports, and stakeholder communications.
- Identify and resolve technical and logistical issues throughout the project life cycle.
- Mentor junior project staff and promote best practices in project management.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience managing transmission, substation, or distribution projects.
- Proven track record with EPC contracts and large‑scale capital projects.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards (IEEE, NERC) and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Primavera, or equivalent).
Compensation
Salary range: $109,313.53 per year.
Work Arrangement
Hybrid schedule offering flexibility to work from home and from the Charlotte office.
