About This Position
Wells Fargo is hiring a Lead Network Engineer Carrier Engineering in Grandview Heights, Franklin County, US. This senior role drives the design, implementation, and operation of highly available carrier and enterprise transport networks serving the bank’s global footprint.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Carrier Engineering Services team in designing resilient, high‑capacity network architectures for WAN, MPLS, SD‑WAN, and fiber transport.
- Architect, deploy, and maintain large‑scale carrier and enterprise networks, ensuring 99.999% availability and compliance with security standards.
- Collaborate with business partners, vendors, and cross‑functional IT teams to translate business requirements into scalable network solutions.
- Develop and enforce best‑practice operational procedures, cost‑optimization strategies, and performance monitoring frameworks.
- Mentor junior engineers, conduct technical reviews, and lead incident response for network outages.
- Manage relationships with telecom carriers, negotiate service level agreements, and oversee procurement of network services.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 10+ years of experience in carrier‑grade network engineering, including MPLS, BGP, OSPF, QoS, and SD‑WAN technologies.
- Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong knowledge of network security, routing protocols, and high‑availability design patterns.
- Hands‑on experience with network automation tools (Ansible, Python, REST APIs).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and vendor negotiation skills.
Compensation
