Large Accounts Underwriter

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and underwrite large commercial accounts, ensuring profitable risk selection.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents, brokers, and internal partners.
• Analyze financial statements, loss histories, and market trends to determine appropriate pricing and terms.
• Collaborate with claims and actuarial teams to monitor portfolio performance and adjust strategies as needed.
• Prepare detailed underwriting reports and present recommendations to senior management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Risk Management or related field.
• 3+ years experience underwriting large commercial accounts, preferably in property and casualty.
• Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial analysis and underwriting software.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Must reside in the Lansing, MI, Cincinnati, OH, or Indianapolis, IN metropolitan areas.

Compensation & Benefits
