Landlord Health and Safety Assistant Manager
About This Position
The Landlord Health and Safety Assistant Manager role at emh group is a home‑based position supporting affordable housing assets across the East Midlands, based in Whitwick, Coalville. You will work 35 hours per week, visiting the office a few days each week.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Landlord Health & Safety Manager in developing and implementing H&S policies for a portfolio of residential properties.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with UK legislation and internal standards.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents, corrective actions and compliance reports.
- Support the delivery of training programmes for staff, contractors and tenants on health and safety best practices.
- Coordinate with external regulators, fire services and third‑party auditors during inspections and investigations.
- Help prepare annual H&S performance reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Experience
- Relevant H&S qualification (NEBOSH, IOSH) or equivalent experience in residential property management.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in health and safety within the housing or construction sector.
- Strong knowledge of UK landlord health and safety regulations, fire safety, and risk management.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence stakeholders.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and H&S management software.
- Self‑motivated, able to work independently from home and manage occasional office visits.
