Junior ServiceNow Developer – GovCIO (Remote – NY State Campus, Albany County, US)

GovCIO is seeking a Junior ServiceNow Developer to support mission‑critical applications for the U.S. Coast Guard. This fully remote role is based out of the NY State Campus in Albany County and offers a salary of $76,734 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with senior developers and business analysts to design, develop, and test ServiceNow applications and automated workflows.
• Maintain and enhance existing ServiceNow modules in line with the Software Lifecycle Management Plan (SLMP).
• Create and update technical documentation, including design specs, user guides, and change logs.
• Participate in daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, and code reviews to ensure high‑quality deliverables.
• Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, service requests, and performance issues on the ServiceNow platform.
• Support data migration, integration, and scripting tasks using JavaScript, REST APIs, and Flow Designer.
• Adhere to security, compliance, and federal IT standards required for U.S. Coast Guard operations.

Required Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Basic understanding of ServiceNow fundamentals (ITSM, CMDB, Service Catalog, Workflow).
• Familiarity with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and web‑service integration concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment.

Preferred Experience

• ServiceNow System Administrator certification or progress toward it.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Exposure to federal government IT projects or security compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, RMF).
