About This Position
Job Summary
WSP Canada is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer, Power Generation to join its Energy subsector in Greater Vancouver, British Columbia. This role offers the chance to work on innovative power generation projects with a global engineering leader.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and review mechanical systems for power generation facilities, including turbines, condensers, and auxiliary equipment.
- Perform calculations, simulations and stress analyses to ensure safety, reliability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—electrical, civil, environmental—to integrate mechanical solutions into overall project designs.
- Prepare technical reports, specifications, and construction documents that meet Canadian codes and industry standards.
- Support construction and commissioning phases by providing technical guidance, troubleshooting, and on‑site inspections.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, value engineering studies and sustainability assessments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; professional engineering (P.Eng.) registration preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in power generation or heavy industrial mechanical design.
- Proficiency with CAD/3D modelling software (e.g., AutoCAD Plant 3D, SolidWorks) and analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, FEM).
- Strong knowledge of ASME, CSA and other relevant codes and standards.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
