About This Position
Job Summary
Actalent is seeking an Instrumentation Designer for its innovative ethanol facility in Wichita, Sedgwick County, US. This role designs advanced instrumentation, electrical, and control systems to support cutting‑edge ethanol production.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed instrumentation and electrical schematics, loop diagrams, and control narratives for ethanol plant projects.
- Collaborate with process engineers, vendors, and field teams to translate concepts into constructible designs.
- Perform design calculations, select appropriate hardware, and ensure compliance with industry standards (ISA, NEC, IEC).
- Generate procurement packages, including specifications, data sheets, and bill of materials.
- Support construction and commissioning phases by reviewing shop drawings, resolving field issues, and updating as‑built documentation.
- Maintain design documentation in PLM systems and ensure version control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience designing instrumentation and control systems for process industries, preferably ethanol or bio‑fuel.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar design tools.
- Strong knowledge of PLC/HMI platforms, DCS, and fieldbus protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Foundation Fieldbus).
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Compensation & Benefits
