About This Position
Job Summary
Kinseth Hospitality is seeking a detail‑oriented Hotel Bookkeeper for its property in Bingham Farms, Oakland County, US. This role ensures accurate accounting, financial reporting, and benefits administration for hotel and restaurant operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile all general ledger accounts for the hotel and on‑site restaurant.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly and year‑end financial statements and reports for management review.
- Process payroll, track employee benefits, and act as Benefits Administrator for all hotel staff.
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable, ensure timely vendor payments and guest invoice processing.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to support operational decisions.
- Coordinate with property management to provide accurate financial data for occupancy, revenue per available room (RevPAR) and other key performance indicators.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, corporate policies and local/state regulations.
- Support audits by preparing documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Utilize DailyPay and 401(k) platforms to manage employee deductions and contributions.
- Participate in cross‑functional projects, such as cost‑saving initiatives and process improvements.
Qualifications
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- 2+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in hospitality or a similar fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or industry‑specific systems) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with hotel management and staff.
- Knowledge of payroll processing, benefits administration and basic tax filing.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
