About This Position

Job Summary

Weill Cornell Medical College is hiring a Helpline Clinician‑Elder Abuse in Grand Central, Manhattan. This exempt, full‑time position provides trauma‑informed counseling and emotional support through the NYCEAC Elder Abuse Helpline.

Key Responsibilities

  • Answer incoming calls from concerned individuals, victims, and professionals regarding suspected elder abuse.
  • Provide trauma‑informed counseling, emotional support, and crisis intervention.
  • Assess risk, document details, and coordinate referrals to appropriate social services, legal resources, and medical care.
  • Maintain accurate case notes in compliance with NYC Human Rights Law and HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including social workers, attorneys, and healthcare providers.
  • Participate in regular training, supervision, and quality‑improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field.
  • Current New York State clinical license (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, or equivalent) or eligibility for licensure.
  • Minimum 2 years experience providing counseling or crisis intervention, preferably with older adults.
  • Strong knowledge of elder‑abuse laws, reporting requirements, and community resources in New York City.
  • Excellent communication, empathy, and ability to manage high‑stress situations.

Work Schedule & Compensation

35‑hour work week, exempt status. Salary: $63,939.52 per year.
