About This Position

Job Summary

1st Select is seeking a Help Desk Support Analyst for its Woolston, Warrington office. This full‑time, Monday‑Friday role offers a competitive rate of £18 per hour on a 3‑month contract, with the possibility of extension or permanent placement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide first‑line technical support to internal users, diagnosing hardware, software and network issues.
  • Log, track and resolve tickets using the company’s ITSM platform, ensuring SLA compliance.
  • Escalate complex problems to senior engineers while maintaining clear communication with users.
  • Install, configure and update desktops, laptops, printers and peripheral devices.
  • Assist with onboarding and off‑boarding processes, including account provisioning and asset allocation.
  • Create and maintain basic documentation and knowledge‑base articles for repeat issues.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and contribute ideas for service improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1‑2 years of experience in a help‑desk or IT support role, or a recent graduate with a relevant IT qualification.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows 10/11, Microsoft Office suite, and common business applications.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory, Office 365, and basic networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Excellent communication skills and a customer‑focused attitude.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a busy on‑site team.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, ITIL Foundation) are a plus.
