Job Summary
Naropa University is hiring four Graduate Instructor/Adjunct Faculty members for its Writing Center in Boulder, Boulder County, US. This hybrid, part‑time role (15% FTE, 6 hrs/week) offers a fixed annual salary of $101,645.58.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach graduate‑level writing courses and workshops within the Writing Center and Jack Kerouac School programs.
- Develop syllabi, assignments, and assessment rubrics aligned with Naropa’s interdisciplinary mission.
- Provide one‑on‑one tutoring and feedback to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Collaborate with the Writing Center Director and faculty to design curriculum innovations.
- Participate in departmental meetings, faculty retreats, and community outreach events.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and grading in accordance with university policies.
Qualifications
- Current MFA graduate or recent graduate (within 2 years) from Naropa University’s Jack Kerouac School.
- Demonstrated teaching or tutoring experience in writing, composition, or related humanities fields.
- Strong communication, mentorship, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
- Ability to work both on‑site at the Arapahoe Campus and remotely (hybrid model).
- Commitment to Naropa’s contemplative education philosophy.
Compensation & Benefits
Annual salary: $101,645.58 (exempt, salaried). The position is classified as 15% FTE (approximately 6 hours per week) and includes standard university benefits proportional to FTE.
