Job Summary

Beyond Karate Los Angeles is seeking a part‑time Fitness Trainer or Assistant to lead martial‑arts‑based fitness classes for students of all ages and abilities in Santa Monica, Los Angeles County.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver dynamic group fitness sessions that blend martial arts techniques, functional movement, and cardio conditioning.
• Adapt exercises to accommodate beginners, seniors, and individuals with special needs, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.
• Assist senior instructors with class setup, equipment checks, and participant onboarding.
• Maintain a clean, organized studio and follow all health‑and‑safety protocols.
• Provide personalized feedback, track progress, and motivate participants to achieve their fitness goals.
• Support special events, workshops, and seasonal camps for families and adults.

Qualifications

• Background in martial arts, fitness instruction, or related field (certifications a plus).
• Experience teaching diverse age groups, from children (4+) to adults.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to modify movements for varying abilities and injuries.
• Current CPR/AED certification preferred.

Compensation

Annual salary: $50,351.57 (part‑time, prorated based on hours worked).
