About This Position
Job Summary
Actalent is seeking a Field Engineer in Quivira, Johnson County, US to support the deployment and replacement of civil air traffic surveillance radars across the United States. This role blends on‑site installation, testing, and maintenance with systems engineering and customer coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, calibrate, and commission approach and en‑route air traffic surveillance radar systems at multiple FAA sites.
- Perform functional and performance testing to verify compliance with technical specifications and safety standards.
- Provide on‑site technical support, troubleshooting, and corrective actions during and after installation.
- Collaborate with project engineers, contractors, and FAA representatives to ensure seamless integration with existing air traffic management infrastructure.
- Prepare and maintain detailed field reports, test logs, and as‑built documentation.
- Assist in the development of installation procedures, work instructions, and training materials.
- Travel to various locations nationwide, adhering to safety and security protocols.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in field service, radar systems, or avionics installations.
- Strong knowledge of radar theory, signal processing, and RF hardware.
- Proficiency with test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzers, and power meters.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently in remote environments.
- Valid US driver’s license and ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Willingness to travel up to 80% of the time.
Compensation & Benefits
