Experienced Project Roadway Engineer

Job Summary

Crawford Murphy & Tilly Inc is hiring an Experienced Project Roadway Engineer for its Indianapolis, Marion County office. This on‑site role supports the Surface Transportation team on complex roadway projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead design, analysis, and construction documentation for highway and street projects.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project milestones are met.
• Perform field inspections, traffic studies, and pavement evaluations.
• Develop cost estimates, schedules, and technical reports.
• Mentor junior engineers and review their work for quality and compliance.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in roadway design and project management.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and roadway design software.
• Strong knowledge of AASHTO, FHWA, and local Indiana design standards.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and client‑service skills.
