Job Summary

Join Tiedt Nursery in Waverly, Bremer County, IA as an Erosion Control Technician. This hands‑on role supports commercial, municipal and state projects across Iowa, ensuring effective erosion control and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, monitor and maintain erosion control measures such as silt fences, sediment basins, and revegetation systems on diverse project sites.
• Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with environmental plans, local regulations and client specifications.
• Collaborate with a small crew and work independently to troubleshoot issues and adjust control strategies as needed.
• Document work performed, complete daily reports, and maintain accurate records of material usage.
• Operate light equipment safely, including excavators, skid‑steers and compactors.
• Assist with site cleanup, erosion control material ordering, and inventory management.

Qualifications & Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; additional coursework in environmental science, civil engineering, or related field is a plus.
• Prior experience in erosion control, landscaping, construction, or land‑development projects.
• Valid Iowa driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to perform physical labor outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and ability to follow technical plans.
• Basic proficiency with hand tools, power tools and site‑level equipment.
