About This Position
Ochsner Clinic Foundation is hiring an Environmental Services Aide II (Floor/Trash Tech) for a 4‑person shift ending at 12:30 am in New Orleans, Orleans Parish. This full‑time role offers a salary of $64,821.92 per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning and sanitizing of patient rooms, hallways, and public areas according to hospital infection‑control standards.
- Collect, sort, and dispose of waste, including regulated medical waste, in compliance with OSHA and state regulations.
- Operate floor‑care equipment (scrubbers, vacuums, floor buffers) safely and efficiently.
- Monitor supply levels of cleaning chemicals, linens, and trash bags; restock as needed.
- Document cleaning activities and report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor.
- Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to ensure a safe, clean environment for patients and visitors.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year experience in hospital or healthcare environmental services preferred.
- Knowledge of infection‑control practices, hazardous waste handling, and EPA‑approved cleaning agents.
- Ability to work the 4‑person team shift that ends at 12:30 am, including occasional weekend coverage.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand, bend, and push cleaning equipment for extended periods.
- Excellent communication skills and a team‑oriented attitude.
