Job Summary

CDM Smith is hiring an Environmental Engineer – Water Services in Grand Central, Manhattan. This full‑time role focuses on designing, implementing and optimizing water and wastewater treatment systems with a competitive salary of $106,669 per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
• Perform hydraulic and water quality modeling to support system optimization.
• Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and construction documents.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
• Conduct site investigations, data collection, and field inspections.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 3+ years of experience in water/wastewater treatment design and analysis.
• Proficiency with modeling software (e.g., EPANET, HEC‑RAS, WaterCAD) and CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of EPA regulations, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation guidelines, and permitting processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.

Preferred Skills

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with green infrastructure and sustainable water management.
• Familiarity with GIS and data visualization tools.
