Job Summary
CDM Smith is hiring an Environmental Engineer – Water Services in Grand Central, Manhattan. This full‑time role focuses on designing, implementing and optimizing water and wastewater treatment systems with a competitive salary of $106,669 per year.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed engineering designs for water and wastewater treatment facilities.
- Perform hydraulic and water quality modeling to support system optimization.
- Prepare technical reports, permit applications, and construction documents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and regulatory agencies.
- Conduct site investigations, data collection, and field inspections.
- Provide technical support during construction, testing and commissioning phases.
- Stay current with industry standards, sustainability practices and emerging technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3+ years of experience in water/wastewater treatment design and analysis.
- Proficiency with modeling software (e.g., EPANET, HEC‑RAS, WaterCAD) and CAD tools.
- Strong knowledge of EPA regulations, NYS Department of Environmental Conservation guidelines, and permitting processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment.
Preferred Skills
- Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with green infrastructure and sustainable water management.
- Familiarity with GIS and data visualization tools.
Compensation & Benefits
