Engine Overhaul Flight Deck Leader – GE Aerospace, Boston, MA
GE Aerospace is seeking an experienced Engine Overhaul Flight Deck Leader to drive performance and quality in our Boston, Suffolk County facility. This senior role oversees engine overhaul teams, ensures compliance with safety standards, and delivers on‑time, cost‑effective results.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary flight deck crew through all phases of engine overhaul, from disassembly to final testing.
- Develop and enforce work‑processes that meet FAA, EASA, and internal quality standards.
- Monitor production schedules, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to achieve on‑time delivery.
- Coach, mentor, and evaluate technicians and engineers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with supply‑chain, engineering, and maintenance planning teams to ensure parts availability and accurate documentation.
- Prepare and present performance metrics, safety incidents, and cost analyses to senior leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of hands‑on experience in jet engine overhaul or repair, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of turbine engine components, inspection techniques, and overhaul manuals.
- Proven ability to manage large, cross‑functional teams in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication, and data‑driven decision‑making skills.
- Certification such as A&P, FAA Repair Station Authorization, or equivalent is a plus.
Compensation
Salary: $86,903.19 per year (fixed).
