Employment Specialist

The Employment Specialist role at Career Focus Inc is a contract position based in Tampa, Hillsborough County, US. You will help clients develop job‑ready skills, explore career interests and secure sustainable employment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct one‑on‑one assessments to identify clients’ strengths, barriers and career goals.
• Design and deliver individualized job‑skill training, resume workshops and interview preparation.
• Connect clients with local employers, apprenticeship programs and community resources.
• Monitor client progress, maintain accurate case notes and submit required documentation on time.
• Provide ongoing support during the first 90 days of employment to ensure successful job retention.
• Track performance metrics and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Social Work or related field preferred.
• Experience in workforce development, case management or employment counseling.
• Excellent communication, active‑listening and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage a flexible schedule and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case‑management software.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for client outreach.
