About This Position
Peter Lucas Project Management Inc. is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join its Edmonton, Alberta team, supporting heavy‑industrial mining projects. This role offers exposure to cutting‑edge technology and diverse engineering challenges in the mining, energy and industrial sectors.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop and review electrical systems for large‑scale mining infrastructure.
- Perform load calculations, short‑circuit studies and protective device coordination.
- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications and procurement documents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including civil, mechanical and control engineers.
- Provide on‑site support during construction, commissioning and testing phases.
- Ensure compliance with Canadian electrical codes, safety standards and project specifications.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) licence or eligibility in Alberta preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in heavy‑industrial or mining electrical design.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design software (e.g., ETAP, SKM).
- Strong knowledge of IEC, CSA and applicable provincial codes.
- Excellent problem‑solving, communication and teamwork skills.
