Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute comprehensive audits of employee benefit plans (EBP) for a diverse portfolio of clients.
- Lead a team of auditors, providing coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
- Serve as the primary client contact, delivering audit findings, recommendations, and compliance guidance.
- Develop audit programs, work‑papers, and risk‑based testing procedures in line with ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations.
- Monitor audit timelines, budgets, and resource allocation to meet service level agreements.
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement best‑practice audit methodologies.
- Prepare and present detailed audit reports to senior management and client stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; CPA or CIA certification preferred.
- 5+ years of experience conducting audits of employee benefit plans or similar pension/retirement services.
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, IRS Code Section 410(b), and Department of Labor regulations.
- Proven leadership experience managing audit teams and complex projects.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and client‑service skills.
- Advanced proficiency with audit software (e.g., CaseWare, ACL) and Microsoft Office Suite.
