Director of Resident Care

The Director of Resident Care will lead nursing and personal care services for Simcoe County’s long‑term care facilities in Orillia, Simcoe region. This senior role ensures high‑quality resident care, compliance with legislation, and continuous service improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and oversee all resident care activities across assigned facilities.
• Manage nursing staff, personal support workers and allied health teams to deliver safe, compassionate care.
• Develop and implement policies, procedures and quality‑improvement initiatives that meet County standards and provincial regulations.
• Monitor resident outcomes, conduct audits, and drive corrective actions to enhance care quality.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Registered Nurse (RN) designation with a valid Ontario licence.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in long‑term care or senior services, including at least 3 years in a senior management role.
• Strong knowledge of Ontario’s Long‑Term Care Act, health‑care regulations and accreditation standards.
• Proven leadership, strategic planning and change‑management abilities.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict‑resolution skills.
• Ability to analyse data, prepare reports and manage budgets effectively.
