About This Position
The University of Kansas is seeking a Director of Administration (Internal Only) to lead strategic and operational initiatives for the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences in Lawrence, Douglas County. This senior role reports directly to the dean and partners with senior leadership to drive university goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as senior advisor to the dean and leadership team on strategic planning, policy development, and personnel matters.
- Lead the development, implementation, and assessment of the dean’s strategic initiatives and agenda.
- Monitor progress of projects, ensuring alignment with University objectives and timely delivery.
- Serve as primary liaison between the dean’s office, faculty, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation for the college.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams to address unanticipated issues and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Prepare and present reports, proposals, and briefing materials for senior leadership.
- Ensure compliance with university policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in higher education administration, business, public policy, or related field.
- Minimum 10 years of senior administrative experience in a university or large‑scale organization.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, fiscal management, and change leadership.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external partners.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
Compensation
Salary: $136,006.56 annually.
